Art contest
I'm back from my long blogging hiatus to announce that Steven entered a drawing in a Purdue art contest back in April and was notified today that he was chosen as one of the 9 finalists out of 20,000 entries! We are so proud of him and his accompslishment. If you want, you can head over to his blog where he's posted the picture he drew and the letter he received from Purdue, and leave him a comment. He'll love it!

Krick version of 'Baby Blues'
I'm finally coming out of my blogging hiatus, I think. Life has been busy but nothing worth blogging about it seems. That is until a recent argument between Ashlee and Steven I thought was worth sharing.
"Picture it" (LOVE the Golden Girls!) -
Steven and Ashlee are in the car and we're on our way to school. They are fighting about something. I can't remember what it was but most likely something so trivial it would blow your socks off. They fight just to fight, I'm sure of it.
Me: "Alright, that is enough. No more talking on the way to school."
Silence.....
Steven: "Moooommm, Ashlee is looking at me and smiling".
Ashlee: "No I WASN'T!"
Steven: "Yes you were".
Me: "Alright no more talking and each of you look out your own window." We are NOT going through this this morning.
Silence....
Steven: "Moooommmm, Ashlee is looking out my window and not hers".
Ashlee: "No I wasn't, I was looking out mom's window".
Steven: "No, you were looking out MY window".
Me: "Ashlee, you were told to look out YOUR window, not mine or Steven's. Steven, if you saw Ashlee looking out your window or mine, then you weren't looking out your's either".
Steven: "Yes I was! I have "corner vision" and I could see her".
By this time we're at school and we've had the most pleasant ride, as you can see.
AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!
What will it be like when they are teenagers??

They crack us up
This past Saturday I was having a lazy morning in bed. The kids were plopped all around me and out of the blue Kelcee said, "Mom, did you know that there's no trouble in your bubble when your floatin' along"? I cracked up and asked her to repeat it. Evidently she learned this off of Mickey Mouse but for her to bring it up like that was hilarious. Needless to say, the rest of the day it was mentioned several times that someone had "trouble in their bubble" when the kids weren't getting along, etc. (Of course Rodney had to mention I had some trouble in my bubble too, but we all know better!) :o)
I have failed to post about the new rabbit we got a couple of weeks ago. She was given to us by Rodney's aunt for free and the kids think it's pretty neat. This past Sunday we woke up to 5 babies! We had no idea she was pregnant. None of them made it, though, and that was sad for the girls. Steven took the news pretty well and said, "Dad, do you think she'll lay any more"?
(He'll be ready to kill me when he reads this; he was already "mad" at me that I told my mom!)
